Join us as we celebrate the Doylestown Pride Festival with a screening of the ‘90s comedy classic, THE BIRDCAGE. The screening will take place Outdoors at Broad Commons Park and is in partnership with Doylestown Pride and The Moving Picture Cinema.
A cherished staple of LGBTQ cinema, THE BIRDCAGE features standout performances from Robin Williams, who plays a gay cabaret owner, and Nathan Lane, who plays his drag queen partner. Together, they pretend to be straight so that their son can comfortably introduce them to his fiancée’s moralistic parents. This brilliantly crafted farce from director Mike Nichols and writer, Elaine May is both hilarious and heartwarming. Also starring Gene Hackman and Dianne Wiest. Rated R.
