In celebration of Rodgers and Hammerstein’s 80th Anniversary of the beloved stage show, Oklahoma! The National Theatre production of the critically acclaimed, Olivier Award-winning musical stars then-newcomer Hugh Jackman as Curly, alongside Maureen Lipman. This riveting stage production was filmed during its record-breaking 1998 run in London and is directed by theatre legend Trevor Nunn (CATS, Les Misérables) with choreography by Susan Stroman. OKLAHOMA features some of musical theatre’s most delightfully hummable songs, including 'Oh, What a Beautiful Mornin',' 'The Surrey With The Fringe On Top' and the joyous title tune, 'Oklahoma'.
A representative from The Oscar Hammerstein Museum will join us in-person to introduce the screening and to speak about the OKLAHOMA writer’s connection to Doylestown.
