The first of seven collaborations between director Josef von Sternberg and actress Marlene Dietrich. MOROCCO tells the complicated love story of a cabaret singer (Dietrich) and an American Legionnaire played by Gary Cooper. This Pre-Code film is often remembered for the image of Dietrich dressed in a tuxedo, and playing provocatively with gender roles.
