About the Fashion: Fellini’s LA DOLCE VITA is one of the most stylish films of all time and found inspiration in the sack dress created by the Spanish fashion house of Balenciaga. The ‘sack dress’ was controversial for being so radically different from the very constricting hour-glass shape that had influenced every aspect of fashion at that time. Possessing a new type of freedom and fashion that women and men would embrace. Marcello Mastroianni’s short suit coat, thin lapels, ties, and iconic Persol sunglasses would become a fashion staple for men throughout the ‘60s.
