Fatherland

From acclaimed filmmaker Paweł Pawlikowski (Ida, Cold War) comes a deeply intimate portrait of exile and memory. Set in 1949 post-war Germany, Nobel Prize-winning writer Thomas Mann returns to a scarred and divided nation, accompanied by his daughter Erika, an actress, writer, and rally driver. Traveling by car across the American-occupied West to the Soviet-controlled East, the pair confront the ruins of their homeland and the unresolved wounds within their own family.
