Our friends at the Bucks County chapter of Filitalia International will join us in-person to introduce the film.
A landmark Italian neorealist film, Vittorio De Sica's BICYCLE THIEVES tells the story of a man who is thrown into desperation and despair when his precious bicycle, the mode of transportation he relies on to arrive at a hard-won job, is stolen in post-World War II Rome. As he and his ten-year-old son search throughout the city, the film becomes an odyssey in which the two encounter the best and worst of humanity. In Italian with subtitles.
Created in collaboration with TCNJ Professor Emeritus Alan Amtzis and TCNJ Professor Simona Wright. Join us for our four-week online seminar course exploring Italian Neorealism. Registration coming soon.
