After the Fox

This ongoing series allows theater staff and members of the Doylestown community to pick and present their favorite films to our engaged community of cinephiles. Our screening of AFTER THE FOX was selected and will be introduced by Dave Buday, longtime volunteer and ticket taker at the theater.

Forefather of the neorealist movement, Vittorio De Sica (Bicycle Thieves) skewers pretentious critics, pompous directors, and egotistical movie stars with this crime comedy caper starring Peter Sellers. Sellers plays a master criminal known as “The Fox,” who poses as a famous director making a fake film in a sleepy coastal Italian town – where he plans to nab his latest score. AFTER THE FOX impeccably utilizes Sellers' comedic talents with a first-time screenplay by noted American playwright Neil Simon (Barefoot in the Park, The Odd Couple).
