Director Barry Jenkins’ follow-up to the 2016 Best Picture Winner Moonlight. Set in 1970’s Harlem, this poetic adaptation of James Baldwin’s last novel of the same title is about a young couple who are planning their life together when one of them is wrongly accused of a crime. Jenkins’ gorgeous cinematic technique mirrors the thoughtful prose of Baldwin’s text. Featuring a breath- taking performance from Regina King, and KiKi Layne and Stephan James are tremendous.
